Fran’s New Book

MODERN LIFE AS SEEN BY A 90-SOMETHING

Fran Parsons is 91 years young and has had quite an eventful life, one way and another.
Now that the pace is calming a little and she has more time on her hands, she has turned her hand to producing inspired rhymes: she refuses to call it poetry because, she says, that puts her into the same league as “proper poets”.

Her second book, “Thoughts & Rhymes on Modern Times” has just been published. It is a collection of rhymes looking at modern life through the eyes of a very observant 90-something with a wicked sense of humour. Some are whimsical and some look at the nonsense of everyday life with a wistful gaze back at “the good old days”. Others are more poignant, philosophical and profound. All will make you smile.

“Thoughts & Rhymes on Modern Times” is available online through Brown Dog Books at
https://www.browndogbooks.uk/products/thoughts-rhymes-on-modern-times-fran  or through Amazon – just search “Thoughts & Rhymes on Modern Times” by Fran.

The cover price is just £7.99 which makes it an ideal gift or Christmas stocking filler for those family members and friends who, like Fran, remember “the good old days”. Parents or grandparents, elderly relatives, they will identify with the sentiments and reminiscing, and both words and beautiful illustrations (from Susie Robertson) will make them smile or laugh out loud.

Fran is donating all the net profits from the sale of her book to local charities: as she says,
“Life has been good to me, and this is one way in which I am giving something back.”
